Description: A passive system consisting of a vertical flow wetland and settling pond was installed in 2004 ($372,800) to treat the JB2 abandoned mine discharge. In 2006, $112,575 from WPCAMRs Quick Response Program was received. At that time, the mushroom compost was removed along with iron sludge to convert to a limestone bed and created a forebay area. Additional work at this time included adding limestone and installing an emergency spillway. In 2009 the bed was converted to a FeAlMn Bed for $100,000. A trust fund has been established with Penn's Corner Conservancy
