Description: PLEASE contact the Schuylkill Conservation District to visit this site. There are gates on private sportsmen club roads and restrictions on when these roads can be used. The system went into operation in Jan 2006 and was producing tremendous water quality downstream. The pH was boosted from 4 to 6 and precipitated aluminum was caught in the ponds. In June 2006, a 10 inch rainfall caused a collapse within the tunnel that backed up the mine water and blew out the tunnel mouth. The under gravel drain intake structure was covered and fined went into the tanks, clogging the interstitial spaces in the limestone. Micro Hydro Turbines were installed by EMARR, Inc. The Intake was repaired and an additional modified raw water intake was installed to get better flow through the system. Limestone was dug up and replaced in 2 of the 3 tanks
