Description: The systems treat flow from abandoned entries into underground coal mines that are referred to as K1 and K2. The K1 system consists of two parallel drainable limestone beds that discharge primary flow to Cardiff Run but periodically flush to a settling pond that discharges to Cardiff Run near its confluence with Cherry Run. The K2 system consists of one drainable limestone bed that discharges and flushes to a settling pond and wetland in series that ultimately discharges to Cardiff Run.
