Description: Seaton Creek is the major tributary most heavily impacted by historical coal mining activities within the Slippery Rock Creek Watershed. The ~24-acre restoration effort described in this final report is for the area known as Erico Bridge, which was the la 16 component passive treatment system consisting of 3 ALDs, 5 settling ponds, 2 wetlands, and a horizontal flow limestone bed were installed to treat 5 mine discharges from an abandoned underground mine. In addition, 40,000 cubic yards of coal refuse were removed, neutralized and placed within an abandoned cut on the Brookville coal bed. Within the footprint of 2 of the gob piles naturally functioning wetlands were constructed and planted with over 40 species of plants.
