Raccoon Creek Watershed Association (Defunct)

The Raccoon Creek Watershed Association formed in the late 1990s to address illegal garbage dumps and acid mine drainage. The organization along with other partners constructed several passive systems with the Raccoon Creek watershed in Allegheny and Washington counties such as Hamilton, JB1, JB2, Langeloth, etc. In 2014, the organization voted to disband and its work and members joined the Independence Conservancy (http://www.independenceconservancy.org) which continues to manage and maintain those treatment systems.
